History:
The club
started in 2001 when Chris Aluise got Phil
Aluise, Terry Beasley, and Dale Nash to
present a proposal to
the management of Stones River Mall to hold a
weekly Cruise In after
the Mall Theatre
closed. The Mall required insurance to protect
them and the club was born
out of the necessity
to form a Limited Liability Corporation. They
hoped they could some-day get 100 cars to
participate. Since the Cruise Ins started we
have never had less than
100 car at our Cruise
Ins. While at Stones River Mall we almost
reached 700 cars a couple
of times. Due to Mall
construction we had to relocate to our present
location at Mercury
Plaza in 2006 where
our maximum capacity is right at 400, which we
have reached a couple of times.
The club has 5
Directors and a secretary. All club decisions
are decided by a simple majority vote. Our
meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month
and begin at 7PM (next meeting will be May
12th, we have been having some really good
crowds lately). We have been meeting at Ryan's
on Old Fort, but we are looking at a new
location or having our meetings at a different
restaurant each month and will probably
implement this change starting in June (9th).
We currently have 90 members, we would like
more of you to become "active"
members. We can always use help in setting up
and taking down everything at our Cruise Ins.
Those who joined after the first of this year,
your member- ship runs through June 2009. If
you paid your dues in 2007, you're membership
expires the end of June. Only current
members/sponsors will receive the Club
Newsletter. In order to save money we are
asking all members with e-mail addresses to
let us e-mail it to you. If you do not have
e-mail we will be glad to mail it to you. We
only have e-mail addresses for about half our
members. So please let us know what yours is,
if you are not receiving the Newsletter via
e-mail.
